GXU Leadership Visits the Consulate General of Vietnam in Nanning

On January 29, Yu Wenjin, Vice President of GXU, paid a visit to the Consulate General of Vietnam in Nanning and met with Consul General Nguyen Thi Hong. The two sides held discussions on further strengthening cooperation in education, science and technology, and people-to-people exchanges between GXU and Vietnam.

Nguyen Thi Hong welcomed Yu Wenjin and expressed appreciation for GXU’s long-standing contributions to China–Vietnam friendship and cooperation. She noted that in 2025, leading officials of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region paid successive visits to Vietnam, and that cooperation mechanisms between Guangxi and five Vietnamese border provinces and cities have continued to deepen, reflecting Guangxi’s strong commitment to advancing friendly relations with Vietnam.

She further noted that 2026 marks the opening year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and is of significant importance to both China’s development and China–Vietnam relations. The Consulate General will continue to support GXU in carrying out talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation with Vietnamese partners in areas such as artificial intelligence, digital economy, smart ports, and cross-border trade, with a view to jointly promoting China–Vietnam friendship.

Yu Wenjin outlined GXU’s cooperation with Vietnam over the past year, including the education and training of Vietnamese students. He noted that 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of China–Vietnam diplomatic relations and the China–Vietnam Year of People-to-People Exchanges. Leveraging this occasion, GXU has achieved notable progress in education and research cooperation with Vietnam, engaging with 26 Vietnamese universities, including Vietnam National University, Hanoi, joining the Vietnamese Semiconductor Industry Talent Cultivation and Innovation Alliance, and developing the “Yucai Bond · China–Vietnam Friendship” people-to-people exchange brand at the former site of Nanning Yucai School.

He expressed GXU’s hope to further expand cooperation with Vietnamese partners, with the support of the Consulate General, in faculty and student exchanges, AI-enabled education, smart agriculture and animal husbandry, green building materials, and the joint establishment of a Belt and Road industry–academia–research integrated laboratory, contributing to the building of a China–Vietnam community with a shared future of strategic significance.
